Jackets, Blazers & Waistcoats: Occasion Wear Without the Fuss
Function coming up? Here's the honest hierarchy:
Waistcoat sets
The sweet spot for weddings and birthdays: shirt + waistcoat + trousers looks formal, costs less than a blazer, and doesn't get hot on stage. Ages 1–10 especially.
Blazer and coat-shirt sets
For ring-bearer moments and receptions. Fit check: the shoulder seam must sit on the shoulder — a blazer can be let out at the cuff, never at the shoulder.
Overshirts & casual jackets
The everyday version — an overshirt over a tee instantly smartens an outfit for outings and photos, and gets worn ten times more than a blazer.
Girls' jacket sets
Jacket-frock and shrug-palazzo combinations do the same job for girls — occasion-ready without restricting movement.
Sizing
Jackets follow the same 16–40 chart as everything else — check it here. Between sizes, take the larger; a rolled cuff photographs fine, a tight shoulder doesn't.
