Kids' Size Chart: What Sizes 16–40 Mean, by Age

Indian children's wear is usually labelled with chest sizes — 16, 18, 20 and so on — rather than ages. Here is the exact chart we use in our Salem store for every garment on this site:

Size on the labelChild's age
166–12 months
181–2 years
202–3 years
223–4 years
244–5 years
265–6 years
287–8 years
308–9 years
329–10 years
3411–12 years
3613–14 years
3815–16 years
4016–17 years

Between two sizes?

Choose the larger one. Children grow into clothes quickly, and a slightly loose set today fits perfectly next season. A too-small set is money lost.

What about S, M, L, XL?

Some styles — night suits, kurtis, a few sets — use letter sizes instead. Letters vary by garment cut, so for these we recommend messaging us on WhatsApp (+91 75980 93000) with your child's age and height: we take the actual garment off the rack and measure it for you before you order.

Still unsure?
